Product Description

MASTIN Tibial Intramedullary Nail System

Tibial intramedullary nail is an orthopedic implant specifically designed to stabilize and support fractures of the tibia (the larger bone in the lower leg). This surgical technique is popular because it is minimally invasive, promotes effective fracture healing, and allows for early mobilization of the patient.

The MASTIN intramedullary nail is a long, thin rod that is inserted into the medullary canal of the tibia. The canal runs through the center of the tibia and provides a strong, stable environment for the nail to be fixed. The surgery is usually done through a small incision near the knee or ankle, and the intramedullary nail is inserted into it. Once the intramedullary nail is inserted, screws are used at each end to firmly fix it to the bone. The intramedullary nail set consists of MASTIN tibial nail, end cap, DCD locking bolt, locking bolt etc parts.

Advantages of Expert Tibial Nail

1

Low Profile Design: The lower profile at the proximal end reduces soft tissue irritation.

2

Axial Compression: Controllable axial compression hole, with a maximal compression distance of 7mm.

3

Anatomical Curvature: 9º anteflexion design engineered for smooth and precise nail insertion.

Key Design Features & Components

MASTIN End Cap Features

MASTIN End Cap

  • End cap prevents ingrowth of tissue and facilitates nail extraction.
  • 0mm end cap sits flush with nail; 5mm and 10mm end caps extend nail height if nail is over inserted.
  • Cannulated.
  • Self-locking recess for effortless end cap pick-up and ease of insertion.

Advanced Distal Locking Options

  • Distal oblique locking option to prevent soft tissue damage and increase stability of the distal fragment.
  • Two ML and one AP locking options for stability of the distal fragment.
Proximal Locking Options

Versatile Proximal Locking Options

  • Three innovative locking options, in combination with cancellous bone locking screws, increase the stability of the proximal fragment for proximal third fractures.
  • Two state of the art medio-lateral locking options enable primary compression or secondary controlled dynamization.
Cancellous Bone Locking Screws

Cancellous Bone Locking Screws

  • Indicated for the three proximal locking options of all tibial nails diameters.
  • Dual core design for optimized purchase in cancellous bone.
  • Unicortical design.
  • Available Lengths: 40 mm–75 mm.

Standard Locking Screws

  • Larger cross section for improved mechanical resistance.
  • Φ4.0 mm for Φ8.0 mm and Φ9.0 mm tibial nails, lengths: 28 mm–58 mm.
  • Φ5.0 mm for Φ10.0 mm tibial nails, lengths: 28 mm–68 mm.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are the primary indications for the MASTIN Tibial Intramedullary Nail?

The MASTIN Tibial Nail is an orthopedic implant specifically indicated for stabilizing fractures of the tibia shaft and proximal third fractures, providing structural support to allow early patient mobilization.

What material is used and what are its surface characteristics?

The system is manufactured from high-grade biocompatible Titanium Alloy and processed with Micro-arc Oxidation surface treatment to enhance durability, osseointegration, and wear resistance.

What is the purpose of the different MASTIN End Cap sizes?

The end cap prevents soft tissue ingrowth and aids removal. The 0mm end cap sits flush with the nail, while the +5mm and +10mm extension caps help correct nail height if the implant has been over-inserted.

What are the compression capabilities of this intramedullary system?

The nail features a controllable axial compression hole that accommodates a maximum compression distance of 7mm, allowing primary compression or controlled dynamization.

How does the 9º anteflexion design benefit surgical implantation?

The 9º proximal anteflexion curvature is anatomically contoured to facilitate smoother, less invasive insertion through the entry portal while minimizing soft tissue and joint interference.

What packaging and quality standards apply to this product?

The implants are individually packaged in sterile packaging (1 pcs/package) and are manufactured strictly under certified ISO13485 and NMPA medical quality management systems.
