Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) is intended to provide increased patient mobility and reduce pain by replacing the damaged hip joint articulation in patients where there is evidence of sufficient sound bone to seat and support the components. THA is indicated for a severely painful and/or disabled joint from osteoarthritis, traumatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or congenital hip dysplasia; avascular necrosis of the femoral head; acute traumatic fracture of the femoral head or neck; failed previous hip surgery, and certain cases of ankylosis.
Plasma microporous coating with TiGrow technology provides better friction coefficient and bone ingrowth.
Cementless acetabulum cups often feature a porous coating on the surface that comes in contact with the bone. The porous coating promotes bone ingrowth into the cup, which enhances long-term stability and fixation.
The cup typically has a hemispherical or elliptical shape corresponding to the natural anatomy of the acetabulum. Available in multiple sizes (40–60 mm) to match patient anatomy via X-rays or CT scans, minimizing dislocation risk.
The acetabulum cup should be compatible with the corresponding femoral component of the total hip replacement system. The compatibility ensures proper articulation, stability, and overall function of the artificial hip joint.
